The Rattlesnake eggs!

This is a new way to make an old trick, when I was a kid we'd use a bobby pin (hair pin), rubber band and a button. Here I use a piece of door skin or paneling - 1/8 inch plywood, a half inch dowel to make the button and of course the rubber band. You have to break the rubber band, run it through all 4 holes and tie it back together. Then put it on the plywood piece. Wind it up 8 or 10 times (experiment) and slide it into an envelope. Invite somebody to look at the "rattlesnake eggs". When they start to open the envelope it will unwind hitting the sides of the envelope with a rattle. The kids love this one, also something you can sell cheap at craft shows, $1 or so. Please don't try this on anybody with a weak heart. I wanted an envelope to open on the end, so sealed the main flap on a small envelope and opened the end flap with hot water. The final touch, the label, was made with Printmaster.

Tell a friend about the Rattlesnake eggs plan!
